Author: JayneCahill Surnames: edmonston Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.edmonston/8.12.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have traced my grandparents, great grandparents back to William e edmonston / born in 1830 in Edinburgh and died in fins bury London in1880 he is shown on the 1871 census as living in Finsbury london and on the 1851 census as living in Edinburgh with his mother Elizabeth edmonston nee Gerard and again 1861 living in islingtonwith his mother, he married in 1863 in London. His father was also William born approx 1810 perhaps died before 1840 as his wife lived alone. This is my very first post, I would be very grateful for any information out have about the edmonston family in Edinburgh as you stay occupation on the census is stated as engraver.
