Hello fellow Edm's, My family of Edmundson's are from Wayne County, NC. I need help in finding the parents of my ggggrandfather. His name is Hubbard Edmundson. He was born in Wayne County, NC in 1811. He married 1) Delpha Lane and 2) Hepsy Lane. He died in 1886. The Edm's listed in the 1810 Wayne Co. Census are John Edmondson, Bryan(t) Edmondson and Penny(poss. Penelope) Edmondson. It is very likely that he is the son of one of these Edm's unless someone moved to Wayne in 1811, the same year that he was born. I am sure that if I can find his parents, I can link my family to Thomas Edmondson of Essex Co. VA. As far as I can tell Thomas Edmondson's son Joseph born abt. 1673 had a son named John born abt 1710 in Craven County NC. John had a son named James born in 1751, who was a Lt. in the American Revolutionary War. Lt. James appears on the 1790 Federal Census in Wayne County, NC and two of his sons, John and Cullen appear in the 1800 Wayne Co. Census. In the years to come, many more Edmundson's a! ppear on the censi of 1810,1820, 1830, and then my Hubbard shows for the first time in 1840. I still have relatives in Wayne County. My family still owns land there, upon which the Edmundson Family Cemetary is located, which is where my gggrandfather and ggrandfather are buried. My grandfather moved to Aiken, SC when my father was very young and most of my part of the Edmundson family are still located in Aiken, SC and Atlanta, GA. Thanks for any help in advance.
