According to the book "The Old Free State" Lunenburg Cousins Upton Edmundson (will dated 25 May 1871 Amelia cty, VA proved 24 Oct 1771) named his wife, Mary his son, Benjamin a daughter, Constance, wife of Edgecomb Suggett (her homestead in Mecklenburg cty) Mary ( married to a Robertson) and granddaughter Constance Robertson I have a note that Constance Edmundson m Edgecomb Suggitt in 1767. Has anyone seen this will or know anything about the distribution of property? Was there an older son, Upton, who was not named in the will because he would have automatically inherited land? The following names and birthdates which I posted earlier were noted to have been found in papers of Robert & Christiana Blackwell Jones which would suggest that there was some connection between one or both of their families and the Edmondsons before their daughter married Samuel Edmondson. I have added some marriages that would fit the birthdates noted below: And the following would in all probability be the grandchildren of Upton d 1771. But who is the father?? Will of Benjamin Edmondson in court, but is rejected as false. Administration granted to Mary Edmondson, Upton Edmondson and Christopher Robertson. Should this have read 1795??? as Constance didn't marry Christopher Robertson until 1787 and Upton Edmondson wasn't born until 1767. Well I guess I really should go to the library and see what I can find instead of just supposing and guessing. The problem is that the same given names are used in families over and over again and before 1850 it is often hard to find birth/death dates to help distinguish between persons with the same name.
