Hello Peggy, Who was your gg-gf? I have a copy of a Civil War letter written from MO re the bushwhackers. They used some interesting tactics, including burning the feet of the men, to make them tell where their money was hidden. That letter stated that "The Feds killed old Ben Elzey" and that's how we knew for sure that the family legend was true. John Quincy Edmondson was my Civil War ancestor. He enlisted in a Capt. Graddy's NC Company from Clay Co, NC, but his father was living in Union Co, GA. Quince went to West Plains, MO after the war & then moved to NW AR.
