    1. [EDM] REJOICE WITH ME! I have found my GGGF!!

    3. Dear Orvan, Howard, Hughleta, Nancy Wood, and all of the wonderful EDM-researchers out there: About a year ago I started searching for the parents of my ggf, George Washington Edmisten. I knew he was born in Missouri in 1846 but that's about it. I got a lot of responses and learned a heck of a lot about the Edm..ss but no one knew who my George came from. Well, I finally found out: George's father was William "Billy" Edmisten, born "Hancock Indiana co.", died in Thurman Iowa, which is where my George got married. (I got this information from a cousin of my father's whom I have never met except for a recent phone call. His sister who is now dead had recorded some family history before her death a couple of years ago. If she had not done that I would still be in the dark.) So now the search is on again, this time for William's parents and once again I am asking for your help. Does anyone know who William "Billy" Edmisten is? I do not have any dates or who his wife was. I do know he had two other sons besides my ggf: William Alexander (b.July 16, 1839) and James Wesley (b.Nov.2, 1842). (These, by the way, are the two pioneer Edmistens I found in Cass County NE. I had a hunch they were related to my George. They were indeed - his big brothers. Both are buried in Cass County NE.) In addition "Billy" had three daughters: Rachel, Susan, and Catherine, but I have no dates for them. I also do not know how to interpret his birthplace- is there a Hancock Indiana? or is there a Hancock in Indiana county? but what state?? Questions, questions... Any help you can offer is appreciated. Carol Edmisten Seattle, WA
