Calvin, I'm sorry to say that I don't have a Hubbard in my notes, but I do have a couple of things that might help. First, Lt. James & Penelope had a Burwell, whom I have m. to an Elizabeth Mooring & d. in 1814 Wayne Co. An Elizabeth Edmondson age 26/45 is on the 1820 Wayne Co Census, with 2 sons under 10. That might be a possibility. A book on the Mooring & Agee Families says that Penelope was a Mooring (Burwell's intermarried with them) and that Lt. James was the son of a John & Mary Cullen, gch of Jos. & ggch of Ths/Essex. No proof was given. Jos. actually had 2 families, as another researcher discovered, recently. A Joannah Smith went to court, asking that she be guaranteed support for Jos. (I) EDM's ch; Jos's 1/2 brother, Benj., gave that assurance. It seems likely that one of these ch was the Jos (II), who d. 1788 NC, leaving a will naming a wife, Margaret. Ch: John, Edw., Simon, Bryant & Elizabeth. It was probably this John, son of John & Margaret, who m. Mary Cullen? & had Priscilla & Lt. James. We have the John, son of Jos. I, as the one m. to Mary Barrington & he remained in Craven Co for several years, after doing some militia service. A court record refers to some land that was granted Priscilla, mother of this John EDM. John had a couple of daus & 2 known sons: Bryant & Isaac. After a short stay in SC, John appeared in GA, with Isaac. Nancy Edmondson Wood
