Exrs: wife & Wm. Brown, Sr. Wit: Phillip Corlew, Jos Beek, Jesse Guthrie. (HALIFAX CO WILL ABSTRACTS p. 86) Ths. went from Halifax Co to SC to Hancock Co, GA, where he d. in 1792. His will named ch: Wm (probably the father of Danl EDM, gch), Judah, Ambrose, Humphrey, Salley, Elizabeth, Ths., & Willie (inherited his father's 100 a. plantation). Ths. was b.@1731 & m. Elizabeth Smith, the dau of Wm. Smith, who d. 26 Mar. 1791 NC & left a Halifax Co will that named ch: Moses, Eliz., Cath., Judah, Mary, Ann & Lucy. Eliz, Smith m. Ths EDM & went to SC & Hancock Co, GA; Catherine, Judah & Ann ea m. a Harris; Mary m. Ths. Powell, son of Caleb, in 1807 Laurens Co, SC; & Lucy m. James Powell. (Linda Cheek's ANCESTORS & DESCENDENTS OF SMITHS p. 136, pub Easley, SC) Ambrose is a Smith name. Wm Smith referred in his will to his dau, Eliz. EDM. Nancy Edmondson Wood
