I hope we can find a place for this Thomas. While researching a related family line in Washington County, AR, I ran across the following: Thomas Edmonson departed this life on the morning of 8th August 1859 at the residence of his son James Edmonson, Esq at Spring Place in the state of Georgia. Mr. Edmonson was in his 90th year having been born October 10, 1769 at Mecklenburg, VA - his early youth was passed amid the stormy scenes of the American Revolution with his aged father, his uncle and elder brother participated as soldiers of the Continental Army under Washington. Mr. Edmonson was born of parents that whom none could boast better or purer blood in the old Commonwealth. The name of Edmonson, though not as prominet, is as fully identified with the struggles for American independence as that of Washington. Mr. Edmonson emigrated to Arkansas in 1838 and lived in this area until 1856 when he returned to the State of Georgia and resided the remainder of his days in the family of his son Col. James Edmonson. Mr. Edmonson was a member of the Episcopal Church. He left many relatives, children and grandchildren among whom is his son Samuel Edmonson Esq of the city. In addition to the above, mention is made of E.W. Edmiston minor heirs J.W. Edmiston minor heirs, M.A. Edmiston, deceased and S. N. Edmiston deceased. These names were all taken from The Arkansian 12/30/59.
