Hi According to the book "Moragnes in America" there is a cemetery in Gadsden Ala. named either the Moragne or Hughes cemetery. There are supposed to be a number of Edmondsons burried there. Does anyone have a listing of them? Does anyone live near there to be able to check for a grave? I am looking for the grave for Sallie Gilliam (EDMONDSON)HUGHES. She died in 1921. Her husband was Samuel Benson HUGHES. It is possible they may be burried in Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden Ala. Thanks in advance for any help in this search. John LaBarre

Hello, I looked in Cemetery Book for the Hughes you are looking for but I find no Hughes or Moragnes Cemetery there are a lot of Edmonson's buried at Sardis Cemetery in Etowah County. I am researching Edmonson's also could you give me a little more information on this Sallie maybe I could help you some I have several cousins there still. I have found some more information on Sallie Edmondson. She was born on Feb 19 1853 in Tenn, married on Feb 18-1874 and died on Nov 23-1921 in Gadsden Ala. There is a Hughes cem with an Edmondson plot. This may now be called Moragne Park.
