    3. Somebody out there is probably a cousin of mine, but we don't know it. I sort of think that I descend from the Edmondson's around Richmond, Ind., and probably from John the Quaker of Maryland. I've been reading in the newspaper about using DNA. I've been looking at www.familytreedna.com which traces a male's paternal grandfather's paternal side (the y chromosome). This company finds the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) based upon the results of comparing the results of testing two males. The cost is $219 as apposed to the standard $1000. Look at the site for the legal ramifications. Anybody have an opinion about this or an interest in doing it. I really need a proven descendant of John the Quaker for me to prove or disprove that I descend from John EDMONDSON, Talbot Co., Md. Chan J. Chan EDMONDSON Dallas, Texas edmoski@airmail.net

    3. Chan, There is a Stanford researcher (the surname) on the Stanford Genforum by the name of Leo Leonard who was interested in this type of DNA research, and I believe that he was involved in the actual testing. He lives in Georgia. Perhaps he could answer some questions you may have. Surely there is a better way to prove a connection to John of Talbot??? I looked for 5 years for my g-g-grandpa, and I just found him. And it was quite by accident. I had to do a lateral approach.
