This online version of the volume published in 1899 covers the Muster Rolls and Other Records of Service of Maryland Troops in the American Revolution. >From the Muster Rolls site (mentioned directly above) I went to the top and did a search in "entire site" for EDMISTON and got 33 hits. Several mention a Rev. Wm Edmiston and several mention a Samuel Edmiston. Much of this stuff is dated 1770 and thereabouts. Hope this helps someone.
