    3. Hello again Lorelle Did I ever tell you how I got your family history? My dad was visiting his cousin in California and gave him a copy of the EFAB. Well someone had given him your family history, he had no use for it, so he sent it back with my dad, so I entered it into my Edmondson data base and made connections through the old EFABs. I was thinking that maybe it was your uncle Mahlon who Sam Edmonson had met.     3. LAST MINUTE CHANCE TO DO THE DAVID “TURK” EDMISTON TOUR IN SW VIRGINIA! David Turk Edmiston, his descendants went by Edmondson. This has been announced twice now in the Edmondson Family Association Bulletin. Anyone with Edmiston or Edmondson descendants from South West Virginian would find this very interesting to attend. Contact Paul Brown for last minute details. 515-277-7517 David “Turk” Edmiston Gathering: June 24-27, 2000 I hope that I can get this second notice out in time to reach anyone that has not made up their minds yet. Paul Edmondson Brown has planned a very unique outing in Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia to visit the sites of the David Edmiston heritage. If you would like to attend, please call Paul at 515-277-7517 ASAP. You can make room reservations at the Holiday Inn Express in Lexington by calling 1-800-480-3043. Rooms are available at a special rate. Paul says; “ plan to arrive at Lexington on June 24. Events start on Sunday, June 25.” Schedule of events: 1. Attend church at the Falling Springs Presbyterian Church, where David Edmiston, the grandson, was a founder and member. 2. Visit “Montillico”, David’s home, built in 1803 as guests of owners Mark Johnson and wife Tyler St. Clair. 3. Visit the site of the Edmondson Mill. 4. Visist homes built by David for his children, Elizabeth, James, and David Jr. 5. Visit the Amolie-Paxton Cemetery, where David and wife Sarah Paxton are buried. 6. Dinner at “Montillico”. Monday, June 26: 1. Visit James Edmondson’s home built about 1760. 2. Visit the Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church where James belonged and was a teacher in the church school. 3. Visit the site of David “Turk’s” Beverley Land Grant in Augusta County. 4. Visit the Tinkling Springs Presbyterian Church where David “Turk” was one of the founders. Also see the Pioneer Monument in the church yard with David “Turk” Edmiston being listed as David Edmondson. 5. Possible stop at Bethel Presbyterian Church and the site of the North Mountain Meeting Place. 6. Dinner at “Montillico”. Tuesday, June 27: 1. Visit historic Lexington, including Edmondson sites. 2. James K. Edmondson home. (grandson of David Edmiston) 3. Lee Chapel a t Washington and Lee University. 4. James K. Edmondson law office. 5. Rockbridge County Court Room where James K. held court. 6. Stonewall Jackson Cemetery and Monument. 7. Edmondson Street. See EFAB #125, October-December 1999 to see more of the announcement, or call Paul to get more details. We hope to get a good report about the Gathering. Paul has done a lot of work and research to arrange this neat tour, and we hope a number of our EFAB members can take advantage of the guided tour!
