Hi all.... My Aunt in Louisiana who is doing Whatley research found this - knowing I was working on Edmondson - he's not mine (that I know of) ....so thought this might help someone on here - The book is "Miscellaneous Alabama Newspaper Abstracts--Vol. 2 Issue 4-30-1863 "John B. Edmondson, son of A. and Mary Edmondson, was born in Coweta County, Georgia, on the 31st of January 1840, and at the time of his death was twenty-one years and eleven months old. He joined Capt. Lee's Company, which was attached to the 45th Alabama Regt. On the 30th December 1862, on the battlefield of Murfreesboro while engaged with the enemy, fell pierced by a Minnie ball, which passed through the brain, producing instant death. Leaves a father and mother, brothers and sisters. A friend." Let me know if this connects with anyone! Beverly Casper, WY Researching the following lines: BIALI/BIALE, BORDELON, BREWER, BRUNELLE, CARBO, EDMONDSON, ETHERIDGE, LABORDE, LANDRY, LEEBURG, MASCARO, NORMAND/LENORMAND, PONS, ROBERTS, ROTJER, SHOEMAKE, TALTAVULL, TERRAL/TERRELL, WHATLEY ,WHITTINGTON, LOWE, HYATT.
I wonder if this could be Alexander Edmondson. He was on the 1870 LA census index, I think in DeSoto County. I did not look it up on the census, but he was a head of household. I cannot remember that he was on the 1880.
