    1. [EDM] Chas E. EDM, St. Joseph, Mo., 1888

    3. I have a missing or deceased Charles E. (Edward) EDMONDSON, b. 1835, Ohio; resided St. Louis, Mo., 1840-1870. Thereafter, he either died or left. He had no children under 11 in 1880, or I think I would have found him on one of the many Sound exes I have searched. Searching ancestry.com's made-do for 1890 census, I found one Charles E. EDMONDSON, engineer, boards 223 S. 4th, Saint Joseph, Mo., 1888. I think this is Kansas City area, though it is not on my Rand McNally or I'm losing my sight. Since this guy is a boarder in 1888, I'm guessing that he's a young man or a bachelor. There's a Charles E. Edmondson back in St. Louis, Mo., laborer, ~1905. ***Suggestion: I wish you guys would put your town of residence in your signature. In the old days with snail mail I could often remember a town and then who resided there. Like, I visited somebody in Raleigh, NC; she was an EDM and DeBusk researcher. I remember her house very well, and dinner, and some day I'll remember her name. And we discussed that EDM researcher in the Ozarks, Mo., name slips me now. But I can't connect a researcher's name and an e-mail address. Knowing that you reside in USA is about as much help as knowing that Rebecca unknown EDMONDSON, d. 1871, St. Louis, Mo., born United States! Well, that's more help than her death certificate, which was blank. Just a suggestion; even a state of residence would help remember you. Example: When you think of EDM researchers in Iowa, you immediately think of Howard V. Jones, Cedar Falls, I think. Over the last 30 years I can always pull up his name or city or state, but if I had known only Howard Jones, no city, no state, I would many times draw a blank from my memory. (Thanks for letting me use your name, Dr. Jones. You're one of my roll models.) Maybe some of you think you won't be doing research in 30 years, but then, you might. If you're putting your name and your mother's maiden name in various places on the Internet, we'll just hope that the good guys are the only ones that read the genealogy sites. Thanks. Chan J.
