Beverly, the only James W. EDM that I have was b. 1798 to a Ths. EDM (1769-1859 Spring Place, Murray Co, GA). This James W. was involved with politics and owned a hotel & plantation at Spring Place. Ths. went to AR with a son, Saml EDM, who d. aft 1859, Wash. Co., AR, but Ths's obit says that he went back to live with James at Spring Place, where he d. James W. m. Rebecca & had a Susan b. 1830 (no further info). I think that Ths. had another son, Geo. A., b. 1808/10 , m. 15 Feb. 1849 Mary Effany Latch, & he d. 15 Apr. 1878 in Murray Co. According to the research of Angela Edmondson, Geo. & Effany had Geo. Ths. (1867-1933), m. Frances Terry. I have thought that this line might be from Benj. EDM, son of Ths./Essex. I was hoping that you might have some new info re Richard H. EDM, who was in Bedford, TN. The Richard H. EDMs that I have come from the line of Benj. EDM, also. However, I don't have any data that would indicate that anyone from Benj.'s line went to SC. I did find a reference to a Richard H. Edmonds being on p. 155 in Landrum's History of Spartenburg (SC). Saml Wash. EDM b. 1812 had a Richard H. b. 1 Oct. 1833 Wmson Co, TN & a David James. I don't have any indication that my Richard EDM b. 1805 SC & in Union Co, GA by 1834, ever left GA.
