Becky and Chan, I have done a bit of reseach for my Roberts line in the Bogge Chitto, Washington Parish and St. Helena Parish areas.......(my Roberts eventually married into the Edmondson's in Grant Parish, Louisiana) No Edmondson (any spelling) appear in the list of "headrights" granted by an Act of Congress in 1820. Most of these settlers had taken up land before 1810, and not later than 1815. The St. Helena Parish courthouse has been known to have some interesting info - a will was found there for my Roberts line in Washington Parish - not discovered until the 1960's and a book was published in the 1930's - this will found in the 1960's was able to prove most of the info in the book invalid. I'll check my research of "other" Edmondson's in Louisiana and see if anyone pops up.
