Hi, My name is Beverly - my mother was an Edmondson - and the last of her line. Her father was David Porter Edmondson of Louisiana. (He was born in 1892) 1. My earliest known Edmondson is Philip P. Edmondson b. 1801 in South Carolina. He married first Elizabeth Smith(of NC) in Alabama and after her death, Martha A. "Lavinia" Shoemake in Mississippi. 2. Philip P. Edmondson bought land in Dallas County, Alabama(1820) and the land record listed his as "of Bedford County, Tennessee" by 1850 he was in Clarke County, Alabama, then to Wayne and Clarke Counties (1859)in Mississippi - then on to Louisiana. 3. What I would most like to know???? Who Philip's parents were, and do they tie to the early Philip Parr Edmondson line? (We don't have a clue as to what the P. stands for in our Philip's name) Were the Philip Edmondson and Richard Edmondson in Bedford County, Tennessee on the 1830 and 1840 census(after MY Philip left Bedford County) related to MY Philip? Or, worst case - what Edmondson families were in South Carolina in 1801? (to be possible parents for Philip b. 1801) Hope someone sees something that looks familiar!
