I do hope that this was not an intentional e-mail to the list. I receive over 50 "SPAM" e-mails daily along with usually on average 150 genealogy e-mails every day. I do not wish to have any more. The other lists that I subscribe generally reprimand the offender or remove them. If this was a mistake please be more careful when addressing your emails. Michael D. Harding IBSSG Sarasota, Fl.

Reprimanding people on the list is not my style. I emailed him/her privately. The best thing for subscribers to do in a case like this is just to delete the message. Write the list manager if you have some concerns. I won't speculate on how or why people send off topic messages - or so many Cc:s - except to guess it went to all messages in an address book. I hope we can get through the next week or two without political messages. The non-US residents on mailing lists must be doing a lot of sighing these days. Speaking politically, though, and on topic - I have an Edmondson ancestor who got into politics. Thomas Edmondson (1820-1898) ran for Treasurer of the state of Ohio on the Prohibitionist ticket - or at least that is part of the family tradition. He attended the convention which founded the national party in 1869 in CHICAGO. I haven't yet tried running this down except to do a Google search on the Prohibitionist party. Margaret
