    3. Gayla, I have been gone for about a month so am just now reading through my mail. My great grandfather was David James (sometimes listed as J.D. Edmonson) born in TN July 4, 1851 his father was listed as born in VA and mother born in TN. Starting with that info I wrote to TN records to obtain some sort of record of his birth only to find out they weren't required to keep them. Bummer. So from the LDS I got the same info you have. I talked to another member of one of the girls and she said they all seemed to have gone to AL after the war. I found the 1860 KY census records too but my ggrandfather went north to MN and I see no other siblings there. So it made me wonder if I have a connection to your family or not. Thanks for your help. meteapots@ivillage.com wrote: > Dee, > > Yes...Richard H., & Silas were born in TN. Unfortunately I don't have that exact info in my lap right now. However I know that Silas Coleman Edmonson has records on the LDS sight www.familysearch.com . Their sister Adeline is on the site as well. Also according to the 1850 Davidson Co., TN census, all of the children from Richard to Adeline were born in TN. > The same results are seen in the 1860 Logan Co., KY Census. As for Richard all of the census he shows up in, he reports being born in TN. > > Are you connected to this bunch or extended family? > > Gayla > > On Sun, 22 October 2000, Dee McRee wrote: > > > > > I have a record showing Richard H., Silas and Joseph having been born in the late 1830's in TX however I think that is a mistake I believe they were born in TN. I also found S.W and Eliza and a son with his son living together in Taylor. TX in 1880. > > Dee > > > > meteapots@ivillage.com wrote: > > > > > Thanks to Dave Edmonson's family tree on familytreemaker.com I have found Samuel Washington Edmonson's ancestors! Last month when I joined this mailing list, a ancestor of Adeline Edmonson's contacted me via e-mail. I would like to contact him, but have lost him e-mail address. I would love to have Adeline's descendat tree to add to mine. I am related to Samuel through his older son Richard H. Edmonson Martha McMurray. By the way, does anyone know when Martha McMurray died? Richard remarried (Mary Unknown)by the time he reached Panola Co. Tx in the 1870 Census and had two children from his new wife. > > > > > > I would love to collaborate with anyone associated with Samuel Washington Edmonson's ancestors or descendants. > > > > > > Gayla > > > meteapots@ivillage.com > > > Fort Worth, TX > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > > > iVillage.com: Solutions for Your Life > > > Check out the most exciting women's community on the Web > > > http://www.ivillage.com > > > > > > ==== EDMONDSON Mailing List ==== > > > Edmondson Family Association: Do you subscribe?
