Dorothy, As soon as my schedule frees up a bit - and it will now that we are getting snow (hubby and kids will spend the weekends skiing - and me at home with genealogy -uninterupted!) I'll wind up re-subscribing, and can check things out then. If I can think of someone with a current subscription, I'll give them a shout. (As long as I had it, I did tons of lookups for people - figured that was the only way to make it worthwhile - and the access to the 1850 census scans was worth gold!) As to the Georgia pension site - I finally got on today (during the day) came home early with the flu - and remembered that in Spain, one of the Universities that is on-line, is only accessible during "school-time" - so I tried it about 2 this afternoon - and it pulled up actual scans of EVERY page of the pension applications!!!! Didn't find any for my family - Here's the URL again - http://docuweb.gsu.edu/CivilWar.htm dont' type it in - copy and paste with the mouse - (if you've not done that - let me know and I can send instructions off list) then go to where DOCUWEB is in bold and click on it - on the next page, click on visitor, and then when all the "stuff" shows up on the left hand side click on the pension records - unfortunately you have to search each county, but if you have Georgia connections - well worth the effort, for the quality of the scans. (Once again, tonight, even clicking on re-load, I can't get on - but it shouldn't be a problem during the day.) If you still have trouble getting on tomorrow - send me the names you want to check as early as possible, and I can "capture" and email you the documents. I'll probably still be home with the flu, as two of the kids came home with it too!
