    3. My earliest ancestor is Richard Edmondson b. 1805 SC, m. Margaret (Barron?) & in Union Co, SC by 1834, living 1 hh from Elijah Barron. He may have been the Richard EDM at the estate sale of Joseph Underwood, advertised at the Long Crk. Mtg. House in SC in 1833. He had 1 son & 3 daus in 1834 & I believe that one dau d. young. Their ch: John Quincy Edmondson b. 5 Aug. 1828 Union Co., GA; Amanda, Esabella, f. EDM, Hamilton W.; Napoleon B.; George W.; Richard J.; Lavona; & Margarette Florence. The family was in the 1840 census of Cherokee Co, GA & the 1850 Union Co. census. They were in the 1860 Towns Co (formed from Union) census. John Quincy EDM m. Mary Ann Day on 11 Jan. 1849, Union Co, the same day as the m. of Manday EDM to Asal Day. J.Q. was a 21-yr. old farmer in the 1850 Census of 85th Dist., Union Co. He was in the Shooting Crk. Dist. of Cherokee Co in 1860. When the war broke out, Quince enlisted as a nurse, with his brothers, Hampton & Napoleon, in Capt. Grady's Co., 25th Regt. NC Volunteers, on 8 July 1861. After the war, they moved to West Plains, MO. Their ch: Laura A., Julia E., Richard DeCal, Walter G., Wm. T., & Lou W. Quince & Mary Ann moved to Benton Co., AR, near Vaughn, where they are presumed to be buried in the Barron Cemetery. They joined my g-gf, Richard DeCal (DeKalb?) b. 10 Oct. 1899 & m. to Eliza Jane Smith in West Plains, who had moved there after they m. They & my grandparents, C.E. & Mary EDM, are all buried in the Barron Cemetery, which I have visited on several occasions. I have Quince's war records & that of his brothers, but I know practically nothing about his siblings, except for research done by one of Margarette's desdendents. I would appreciate any information or leads as to the parents of Richard, Sr. & data re his children. Thanks, Nancy Edmondson Wood
