In researching Hancock county Indiana, where my g-g-gf William "Billy" Edmundson/Edmonson/Edmisten lived during the 1830's and 1840's--I came across this reference to a Doctor Edmondson. Does anyone know who this is? Blue River township was organized in approx. 1828. Blue River township has not had a great number of resident physicians. Probably the first one was Doctor Edmondson, a one-armed man who also conducted a little store on the angling road northwest of Mooresville... Doctor Edmondson, the one-armed physician previously referred to, engaged in the practice of medicine for a number of years, his office being located about fifty rods northwest of Hardy's Fork school, on the angling road passing through the southwest quarter of section 21, township 15, range 8. Transcribed from History of Hancock County, Indiana, Its People, Industries and Institutions by George J. Richman, B. L., Federal Publishing Co., Indianapolis, Indiana, 1916. Pages 490-512. Thanks! Carol Edmisten

I wouldn't worry about others (advertisers) getting information from the emails here, though putting your phone number and address into messages which go to an archived mailing list is probably not too wise. People find that information other ways more easily. I am glad - and heartily support - that the EFAB will continue in printed form in addition to having an email edition. Not surprisingly, those of us who are on a mailing list find email very convenient. The EFAB surely has a fair number of subscribers who do not have email and they will want to be included, too - AND I suspect that some libraries have been subscribed or have gotten copies some way. I know that the New England Historic Genealogical Society's library has copies of the EFAB from the fairly distant past, and someone said that the Dallas library has the whole set, I think. I don't know if the Family History Library has them, but it might. I know Orvan was trying to get volunteers to prepare the old issues for putting on a CD - in searchable format. I don't know how far that went, but it would be a good idea to continue. Thanks to Robert and JoLee and all the rest - and to Orvan, too. Margaret

To the Edmondson message board : I wish to apologize for any inconvenience and I should have made my inquiries more clearly. The purpose of wanting to know Who and What type dilivery of the EFAB Newsletter was to determine which method, and the cost to the subscriber, would be best suited for everyones interests. Myself, i would prefer a digital environment, but there some that want it printed and postal delivery. Either method is fine, But please be aware that sending your name and address information Thur the public message board allows advertisers to obtain this and you may not want them to have it. All persons transferring this information should use the personal e-mail system for their protection. Next topic is to the "Pre-Paid" subscribers. If you have pre-paid your subscription-- then it will be honored for it's duration, when the newsletter is in circulation. I would like to take this time to Thank JoLee Spears for her assistance in re-building the newsletter and I hope her patience lasts. We are currently investigating the use of a Web Page for the Edmondson Newsletter and should have answers very soon. Thank you Margaret for the Web information. At the present, we are expecting to have the Newsletter in circulation around the end of September and for those wanting to subscribe, the amount and where to send it will be announced at a later date. I am glad to see so many volunteer's ready to help and the projects will be starting very soon. We are also requesting Family Information that you way want to be placed in the Newsletter. Items such as... News Stories, Migration Tales, War Correspondence, Old Newspaper or Magazine Advertisements, ETC... will be fun to read along with the other Genealogy Information. There will also be a section called " Lost & Found ".. as a research tool for those Inquiring or wanting to Share information. This Family Data may be sent to ... [email protected] .... to be reviewed for publication. Again .....Thank You for your support and response towards the Newsletter. Robert M. I am also interested in any connection of any Edmondson - Edmundson - Edmunson families in Richland Township, Scott County, Mo & where they came from prior to 1870 William Edmunson reports he was born in Kentucky & his wife Martha reports birth in Illinois The 1880 census shows Martha as Head of Household... Is anyone familar with this family? Thanks Linda II Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love, and of a sound mind.

This couple parallels my ancestors, John F. Edmondson, b ~1808, ?Md. and Rebecca unknown, b 1810, Va or Ky. First known child was Charles Edward Edmondson, b 1835, Ohio. They moved to StL by 1837/38.
