    1. [EDM] EFAB Newsletter
    2. ROBERT M. EDMONDSON II
    3. Sorry folks... I'm not ignoring anyone.. but the data that I have been receiving for the Newsletter is in a form that needs to be converted to a story form... if it was a book that was being printed ... this form of data would be great...but for a Newsletter... we need more material that is being looked for and more stories of the Edmondson..(and variations).. migrations, gossip from the ancestors, and any other information that we may have heard from our grandparents that may not seem like anything to us ..but may relate to one of the readers that may have heard it from one of their relatives in the past... I know this from experience to happen... which added 740 more relatives to my tree... Sooooo.... any information that any one in this Massive Edmondson family , may have to contribute to the newsletter ...please send it in as soon as possible ... to... [email protected] .. so it can be formated to be put in print.. The deadline for the next print will be Sept. 10, 2003 I'm still looking for any old advertisements, with pictures.. hopefully, to use as side ornaments to the news letter... along with any family info on up-coming re-unions, or other family events.. what better way to advertise ... All in all.... in order for this newsletter to succeed it requires the input from its readers, and without that...well... there's not much to work with.. Robert M. Edmondson II P.S. any one have any new children, grand-children or great-grand-children lately...??? Let me know and it will be put in print... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? 3. Hello Howard, I am curious as to why you think it "might not be such a bad thing the information was not published" that I sent to Orvan on Matthew and his descendants from Hillsboro in Pocahontas, County WV. It is all documented and even had pictures. I plan to host a Edmiston Reunion next year near Hillsboro. Is it because you have not read it? You have read parts of my book to be published soon on the documented Edmonstone family of Doune, Scotland and seem to be pleased with it. 3. Dear Robert, You probably will have to beat people on the head from time to time. I gather that Orvan has not given you his files, where there are certainly data not yet published. I gave h im some stuff about the Edmonstons of Charleston SC which never saw the light of day, andf I see Joan Wheeler LaGrone complaining that her contributions were not published (which, off the record, may not be such a bad thing). Anyway, I have thought for some time that I could write up something about a William Edmiston who is in Chester Co. PA in the 1730's, quite certainly the father of the David Edmiston there (d. 1771) and in my opinion, very possibly the father of Robert and John of Augusta. I would guess that this might be somewhere between 3 and 5 pages long. If you want it, but not too immeately, let me know. If you don't, that's O.K. I have plenty to do. I also thought that someone, maybe an old vet like me, could write up a few pages describing briefly the major stems of the Edmonstons, Edmistons, Edmondsons, Edmundsons etc., to help beginners point in the right direction. Anyway, if I can help, call on me. Best, Howard ----- Original Message ----- From: "ROBERT M. 3. Hi Robert, First of all, I submitted all of my information to Orvan on my Matthew Edmiston family in Virginia, but never saw anything in print. He must still have the envelope. Also I have been researching my family ancestors in both Scotland and Ireland for several years and made three trips there. Matthew descends from from Sir James Edmonstone, Newton of Doune. This is a Cadet branch of the Duntreath Edmonstone family that is traced back to 1063 in Scotland. Before that the family came from the Dukes of Flanders in Belgium. I have done some research there, which put them back to the 800's. Have you traced your family here, as well? Joan "ROBERT M.
