Grandparents are James Emmett Hays and Selva McCloud. GGrandparents are Andrew C. McCloud (son of Andrew McCloud and Hannah Johnson / Johnston) and Mary E. Edmondson (daughter of David Proctor Edmondson and Mary Unknown). The Edmondson and McCloud families were early settlers of Washington County, VA. Earlier connections to the Edmondson / Edmiston line include Whitely and Robinson. Another set of GGrandparents is N.B. No. Sorry. My Edmondsons were all from Blount County, TN, as was I. Stan Harvill
Forgive my repeated request on this. Henry F. EDMONDSON was born in 1839 in Vermont or New Jersey or New York or somewhere else. He first showed up on the books when he married Nancy E. BALTIMORE in the Choctaw Nation in 1862. He then enlisted or was conscripted in Confederate forces and then deserted and enlisted in the First Arkansas infantry, Fayetteville, Arkansas (union) as a private. He advanced to Drum Major of the Regiment and was discharged in 1865. He and Nancy moved to eastern Nebraska, had four children, Henry S., William, Ida and Elizabeth. Henry died in the National Soldiers home at Leavenworth, KS abt 1905. Where is he from? Who were his parents? I've been looking off and on for about thirty years. I'm 82 and it is beginning to seem that I will never know unless you help me. Regards George W. My Margaret F Edmondson b1848 came from Hall Co Ga to Union Co Ga upon marriage I believe and she was married to William Jasper Miller. She had 6 children and passed away. Before she passed in 1885 she asked William to bury her at Mossy Cheek Methodist in what is now White Co. So he traveled that long route with her body and she is buried at Mossy Creek. William Jasper remarried Malinda Jane Collins and had 11 more children, which includes my Grandpa Miller. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 22, 2003 6:11 PM Subject: Re: [EDM] Book belonging to Maggie Edmondson > I have a Margaret Edmondson, b about 1840 who would be in the right era. For large busy mailing lists some people prefer fewer emails, each one containing multiple messages. For a list the size of this one, there is little benefit, in my opinion, as each digest is unlikely to have more than 2 or 3 messages. Unless, of course, we all start posting a lot more messages.
