    3. Does anyone have information on Thomas Jefferson Edmondson married to Mary Polly Sams? He was born around 1805 I think. They had a daughter, Rebecca, married to Malachi Denney. The Denney daughter, Martha, is my grandmother. 3. Mark, I don't have proof other than information that Jolee provided when I was working on my Benjamin (youngest son of Thomas and brother to Richard Coleman), Thomas was found in the same area as Benjamin in some tax records (I think it was tax records) that she located. Benjamin and Thomas had moved to another area of Mecklenburg County and Benjamin later moves with his family to Blount County Tennessee. 2. Edmondson
    3. Nancy, I'm working on a puzzle and grasping at straws. If you had a Murray Co., GA to NW Ark connection, then I may have also. My ancestor John F. Edmondson, b ca 1808, Va or Md--both ways on the census, had a son Richard H. Edm b 1838, about, in StLouis. I'll just give you the children that I know as you might see a familiar forename. John F. Edm and wf Rebecca unkown both expired in St Louis, MO, he after 1861, when he was exempted from military service due to age. Rebecca d in 1871, res on 11th St. in a fourplex; she was a sicknurse. Issue: Charles Edward Edm, b 1835 Ohio, county unknown, widower on 1880 census, StL No children noted. Richard H. Edmondson, b ca 1838, St Louis, MO, drowned at ~15 yrs (?named after Richard Coleman Edm??) Boanerges R. Edm, bibical name, b ca 1840, d 1866, St Louis, after surviving The War. Edwin Fair Edm, b 1848, St Louis, MO, d 1911, Waco, McL, Texas Last one is "baby sister" Emma, who died of TB, 1884, St Louis, MO, b 1857. Single. Now, the puzzle: Charles Edward Edm and younger bro Boanerges R. Edm enlisted in the CSA in 1861, near NW Ark, joined the Cherokee Mtd Volunteers with all these Murray Co., GA names They are educated and were promoted to Capt of Ordnance and Acting Sgt Mjr, from pvt. Served under Gen. Stand Waite (?sp) of Murray Co., GA But could they have had Murray Co. connections, their reason for leaving St Louis, or maybe they disliked the German influence in StL? My Edm DNA says that I am 12% Native American on my male line. The interesting part is that Edwin Fair Edm, eight years later, met in East Texas, the older grand dau of the Robert H. Howell, who was the white caretaker of Spring Place, Murray Co., GA, the Vann showplace. Robert H. Howell d in Jan 1834 and was buried in the Moravian Cem on the Vann estate. Two of his brothers are also buried there. His wf from Powhatan Co., VA, was Dorothy Vann Briggs. Edwin Fair Edm resided with his mother Rebecca, ref St Louis City Directory, 1868. my only proof, almost. Edwin Fair Edm is married to Marilla HOWELL on the 1870 census of Smith Co., Texas. Marilla was five years older than he. After two children, bang, bang, Marilla died, and three months later, Edwin Fair Edm married her older sister, Mariah Caroline Howell, twice widowed. These Howells moved to Texas in 1856, following other Howells who had moved to Smith Co., Texas, ten years previous from Murray Co., GA area, namely, present Polk Co., Tenn., just east of Spring Place. Was this marriage arranged, since he apparently took the train from StL to Tyler, and way south of Tyler, he meets and marries Marilla Howell, and they didn't live in courtin' distance. I can see how he needed to marry2 Caroline HOWELL Alexander King, what with two infant sons. But, he married folks from almost Murray Co., GA. Was there a 1) St Louis to 2) Murray Co. GA to 3) Indian Territory, to 4) Smith Co., Texas connection? There's a hint of such in your query with the NW Ark location, same as IT in CSA. My Robert H. HOWELL was b in Powhatan Co., VA, c1778. His son Robert Nathaniel Henry HOWELL was born 1816, Powhatan Co. VA, and they moved to present Polk Co., Tenn about 1827. Robert H. HOWELL was the brick mason for Spring Place, present Murray Co., GA, and for the McNair and Hildebrand grand homes , Vann daughters' residences. Poetry was written about Robert H. Howell, pub in the Oklahoma ?Journals, praising him for making poetry with his masonry work. 3. Hello to all, I have had numerous inquiries on my book, the Edmonstone (Edmiston) Chronicles. Due to the Holidays, the Editor has not completed her task and tells me it may be another two or three weeks. As soon as the book is in the hands of the Publisher, I will let you all know. I will also know at that time the price and date the book will be available. I have been asked about the information and from where it came. The historic data is all documented and comes primarily from the Scottish Archives. The list of the sources is included in the book. The book has taken nineteen years for the research and includes my three trips to Scotland and Ireland. It also includes information and documentation from my visits with the Edmonstone Family and others in Scotland. Joan
