    2. Hello EDM researchers, Looking for information about a J. F. Edmundson (Edmondson? Brant, Marley. _Jesse James: The Man and the Myth._ (http://www.islandnet.com/~the-gang/manandmyth.htm) Berkley, ISBN 0-425-16005-X. 312 pages, trade paper, 20 photos. Edmundson.... have been mentioned as possible suspects by several authors, but there has been no substantiation of their involvement...." The locality would be northwestern Missouri (possibly Clay County, Harrison County, Platte County, etc.) I would be interested in communicating with anyone with any EDM link in that locality. Thank you, Charla Edmiston Manica...searching family of Samuel Edmiston (@1785 to 1868), moved NC to Harrison County MO in 1843. Connected with surnames Finley, Thomas, Walker, Jennings.

Message ----- Original Message ----- From: Linda Rodgers To: Lois Strickland Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2005 11:05 PM Subject: Fw: AGREE OR DELETE Subject: : AGREE OR DELETE This is by a daughter of a murdered couple in Raytown who had a Bible Bookstore on 63rd street. Just one more example: When I had to testify at the murder trial of my parents a week ago, I was asked to raise my right hand. The bailiff started out, "Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?" I stood there and waited but she said nothing. She said "Do you?" I was so stunned I blurted out "What happened to "so help me God'?" She came back with "Do you?" I replied yes, but I was perplexed. Then the judge said ................ "You can say that if you want to." I stopped, raised my right hand, and finished with "So help me God!" I told my son and daughter that when it came time for them to testify, they should do the same. It's no wonder we have so many problems in this country. If I'd had my wits about me I'd have told them that taking God out of the courtroom is only going to result in more criminals and murderers like him being in there! I don't know what can be done about it, but it's time we stepped up and did something. NBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the percentage was the same as this: 86% to keep the words, 14% against. That is a pretty 'commanding' public response. I was asked to send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn't. Now it is your turn... It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such turmoil about having "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to Sit Down and be Quiet .... for a change!!! If you agree, pass this on, if not, simply delete.... In God We Trust ..............KEEP THIS MOVING!! 1. Re: [EDM] Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall
    2. Hello, I read the ancestory chart you directed me to. However, the genealogist did not go back to Robert II, King of Scotland. This is where the two, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are connected. Lord Lyon of Glamis Castle married Johanna, one of the daughters of Robert II, while William Edmonstone married Isobel, the eldest daughter of Robert II. Robert II was the grandson of Robert the Bruce. The late Queen Mother descends from that Lord Lyon of Glamis. I was able to see the chart when I visited Glamis a few years ago. That is when I made the connection between the families of Windsor Catle and the Edmonstones of Duntreath. At the time I wrote the book, I did not know Camilla was connected through Alice (Edmonstone) Keppel. Alice was already in my book. > Joan Hello Joan, > > Thanks for the interesting information on Camilla. 1. Re: [EDM] Congratulations
    2. Hi Earl, The book is a 1000 year history of the Edmonstone (Edmiston/Edmondson and other spellings) family from 1063 to 1745 when the Scots lost the last uprising to England. It traces my anacestor, Matthew Edmiston of Chester Co. PA and Augusta County VA. Matthew's father was Sir James Edmonstone, Newton of Doune, who carried the Royal Standard for James VIII at Sheriffmuir. I have covered the family history in Scotland, Ireland and Matthew's move to the American Colonies. The charts of descent are also included. I made three trips to Scotland to do research and worked with the Edmonstone Family members still living in the ancient castle at Duntreath. It was there I discovered Camilla's roots. The book covers the Kings of Scotland and how the family was connected with the Edmonstone Knights throughout the centuries. Anyone with the Edmonstone name is related back to the Dukes of Flanders in Belguim. I mention many of the American descendants in the book, but the primary focus is on the ancient family history in Scotland. One branch of the Family moved to England in the early 1700's to avoid the the Scotish rebellion. It is probably from this English branch many of the Emondson descend. If you are interested in a book, let me know. I think your DNA project is great. I also think if we all combined our histories, we could fill in many of the gaps. Joan Congratulations Joan, I am interested in your book and would like to > know a little more concerning its' content and possibly others receiving > the List would be interested. 3. Dan, I don't know exactly what records exist in Ireland documenting the births of William Edmundson's children, but I believe they do exist. I've not looked for them yet. There are Quaker records here in the states that help, though. William Edmundson settled here in the states in London Grove (not Long Grove), Chester Co., PA. He apparently did not practice the Quaker faith, but several of his children did, and you can find Quaker records for them indicating that specifically that they were William's offspring or that they were from London Grove. I have seen evidence in these Quaker records that William had sons Caleb and Samuel, and daughters Elinor and Susanna. There is also circumstantial evidence that there was a son John who followed brothers Caleb and Samuel to York Co, PA when they left Chester Co. I don't know about the others mentioned in Sheila's e-mail, but again, I haven't dug into the Irish records, so my data is hit or miss with the Quaker records. As far as William's death date goes, all I know is that he died prior to son Caleb's marriage on the 16th day 4th month of 1736. I've not found a will for him. This William is the son of the William Edmundson who is credited with the founding of Quakerism in Ireland. There is much information on the web about him regarding his Quaker exploits, and his life is well-documented in a journal he kept. 3. Keith, Does it look like this could be your Levi below? If so, I can almost guarantee you that these "Edmunsons" descend from a Joseph Edmundson from my line who migrated from Cecil Co., MD to South Carolina, and then back to Allegheny Co., PA in about 1788. Caleb and Samuel are both family names from my line. 1850 Census - Elizabeth, Allegheny Co., PA (Allegheny Co. was formed from Westmoreland and Washington Couty in 1788. Calib (sic) Edmunson 75 Rebecca Edmunson 77 Levi Edmunson 14 Rebecca Edmunson 12 Susannah Edmunson 10 William Edmunson 8 ? There is also a 30 year old Samuel Edmunson living next door. A best guess would be that the children above are Caleb and Rebecca's grandchildren and that one of their sons and his wife died. I haven't pieced together the Allegheny branch of the family nor do I have any wills for them, but I would assume they exist, and you could probably piece the family together from them. Below is all the information I have on this Joseph from my notes. If you can connect to this Joseph, you have cousins who can help you go back further from there.
