    1. Re: [EDM] New member - looking for an Edmondson marriage!
    2. Bea O'Quin
    3. I have a great-grandfather, Caleb T Greer who married two Edmondson sisters; one named Mary or Martha Edmondson and Amanda Edmondson; they were both married in Ga. Amanda was my great grandmother. She and Caleb are buried in Hurricane Cemetery, Hurricane, La. (Hurricane is between Arcadia and Homer, La. ) almost on the line of Bienville and Claiborne Parishes of Louisiana.. This is a large cemetery where Caleb and Amanda lived and are buried there. Martha died and is buried in Walton County, Ga. and left 2 sons and 2 daughters; I have identified one of those children named Amanda, after her aunt Amanda, my Grandmother who probably followered her kin to Louisiana. I have searched for years for this family I described but have never been able to identify my Edmondson line. Please respond. Thank you Bea Greer O'Quin/New Orleans La ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, April 10, 2007 1:50 PM Subject: [EDM] New member - looking for an Edmondson marriage! > Do you by chance have a Briggs Baty Howell, aka B.B. 3. Hi Larry, I took a quick look at the censuses, and unfortunately Hec's father had died before 1900 when I first see Hec listed with his mother as head-of-household in Idaho. The only information I can glean on his father is that he was born in PA. He probably died between 1895 and 1900 as Hec has a younger sister born in June of 1895. Clarence Edmondson b. Aug 1886 in ID, father born in PA, mother born in NY. Mother: Emma Townsend , b. Dec. 1858 in NY or SD Maternal Grandmother: Rachel G. or J. Unknown b. Dec. 1831, NY Maybe someone else can find more. 1. [EDM] ADMIN MESSAGE 9/29 - PLEASE READ
    2. Margaret Olson
    3. Hi all - Our list was successfully moved to RootsWeb's new mailing list system late last night. I would be interested in hearing about any problems which result from the move. Email me at [email protected] The address for sending messages to the list has changed. The list name no longer contains the -L. [email protected] is now the preferred list address. If you mistakenly use the old address it should work, but try to get used to sending To: [email protected] Some ISPs have been having problems recognizing that the messages on the newly moved lists are not spam. Check your spam filters. You may need to put the new list address (without the -L) in your address book to prevent it from being filed in your Junk or Spam folder. AOL subscribers - If problems which occurred last week recur, be aware that there might a temporary delay in receiving list mail (on AOL's end) and also to be careful to check your spam folders. If you find any list mail in there be sure to click the THIS IS NOT SPAM button and read the mail in their inbox so that the filters will be trained with regard to the new server. The email address for unsubscribing will be found in a footer on each list message. It is [email protected] and will be used for subscribers to either list or digest mode. It is also the subscribe address for what used to be the -L list. When you subscribe or unsubscribe you must write the appropriate word (subscribe or unsubscribe) in the Subject: line. Putting it in the message will no longer work by itself. but you can include it if you want to. Don't send Bcc: messages to lists. There is rarely a need to send the same message to more than one list and Bcc's may well not work as you might want them to. If you filter your email into different mailboxes you may need to tweak your filters, as headers you filter on may have changed. [EDM] will continue to be in the subject line for this list, and the X-Loop: header will continue to give the list name. If your filters say EDMONDSON-L, you will need to remove the -L. The list information on http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/e/edmondson.html will change sometime after all the lists get moved. That link still shows this list with the -L in the name and gives incorrect subscribe/unsubscribe addresses. The links on that page to the archived posts should work, however. The list archives won't go away. DIGEST subscribers: Subscribing to the digest remains as it was: mailto:[email protected] However, you may no longer subscribe to both the digest and the list modes with the same email address. To get messages both ways you'll have to have the digest sent to another address. I will try to contact anyone who has lost their digest subscription because of the move. If you get the digest (EDMONDSON-D) it may look a little different. I may be able to help you get it back to close to the way it looked before. Email me for help. If you have any questions; if things seem to have changed in the way you get your email; if you are as confused; contact me at [email protected] I'll see what I can do to help. 1. ADMIN - EDMONDSON mailing list is moving tomorrow
    2. Margaret Olson
    3. Hi - Every person subscribed to this mailing list or any other RootsWeb mailing list should have received an email a few days ago alerting us that RootsWeb is changing from an older mailing list software package to new software. The following will give you the schedule for moves: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/migrate_sched.html. This is a huge operation for RootsWeb, which has more than 29,000 lists to move. The amount of email being generated has been affecting email delivery to some ISPs, including AOL. Be sure to check your spam filters. Our list, EDMONDSON-L, (and the digest version EDMONDSON-D), are scheduled to be moved tomorrow, Monday, August 22 (US Mountain Daylight Savings Time). What does this move mean to you, the subscriber? Current subscribers won't get a new welcome message. If you do get one, don't panic. You won't be on an additional list. You'll just be on the new version of the same list. When it does happen I hope you will hardly notice it. Realistically, though, there will some changes. I will post those to the list after the move takes place. If you have any questions; if things seem to have changed in the way you get your email; if you are as confused as a lot of others are; contact me at [email protected] I'll see what I can do to help. You'll be hearing from me again soon. Margaret Olson [email protected]
