Hi Gerry, I don't know the Spears e-mail address, but she does have a nice site with EDM info. Did you have a specific question re the Lunen. EDMs? Someone on the list may be able to help. Nancy
[email protected] Jo Lee Spears was included in many of the e-mails from several of the Edmonson ancestors sorting out the Lunenburg & Mecklenburg Edmonsons. The e-mails date to 2005 and much of the information gathered was from Howard Jones. I do not know if the e-mail address is current. Charolette Edmonson Sage

Molly: According to my records, your William (1808-1862) is a brother of my Thomas Jefferson Edmondson (1805-1850-60). Their siblings were: John, Samuel Jr., Solomon, Francis (m. Jane Grayson), Elizabeth, Susan, Isaac, and Rebecca. William's parents were Samuel Edmondson (1767-1861), and either Elizabeth Johnson or Rebecca White (2 marriages). Samuel's siblings were: Solomon Jr., Mary, Margaret, Sarah, Susannah, John (m. Nancy Grayson), and Thomas (m. Nancy). Samuel's parents were Solomon Edmondson (1744-1818?) and Susanna Wilkinson (Wilkerson). Solomon's siblings were: Elizabeth, John, Francis, Thomas, and Mary. Solomon's parents were John Edmondson (1699-1768) and Mary Neall. John's siblings were: William, Solomon (m. Hester(Esther) Kennerly Aug. 3, 1723), Elizabeth, and Peter. John's parents were William Edmondson (1675-1702) and Sarah Sharpe. William's siblings were: Sarah, John, Grace, James (m. Magdalene Stevens), Henrietta Maria, Martha, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Samuel. William's parents were John Edmondson (1640-1697-99) and Sarah Parker (Morgan?). I also have an unconfirmed line that goes back from John Edmondson to England. John immigrated from England through Barbados and settled in the Chesapeake region of Maryland in and around what is now Easton, MD. There is a great deal of information on the Internet about him. He was a Quaker and a founder of Third Haven Meeting House which still stands in Easton, MD. Some of the dates I've given you may be slightly skewed; however, my source on most of them is a professional researcher that was hired by my Aunt Ruth Edmondson Hendrickson many years ago. I have confirmed most of them. If you find any information that needs correcting, I'll be happy to stand corrected! Sincerely, Hope Edmondson Jinks Message: 1 Date: Thu, 6 Mar 2008 17:51:26 -0500 From: "Molly Polverento" <[email protected]> Subject: [EDM] Ansel Edmonson - descendent of William Edmondson To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 I am new to this list and have not had the chance to look through all the archives, but I have not seen any information on my branch of the Edmonson family. Hi Carol, Yes, the Edmonstone (Edmiston) family (Matthew, son of James) went first to Chester, PA and then to Augusta Co., VA and was shown in the records by 1740-45. Of course, I knew that, I wasn't thinking. Thank you for setting me straight on how this works. I am interested in the Edmondson line from Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri. Anita -- [email protected] wrote: Carol, Not to steal your thunder, but thought I would put in two cents. As stated below I am the sponsor for my uncle (Edmondson Kit 38892 cited below). Only a direct male descendant of the Edmondson (and variant spellings) surname will be beneficial in tracing the DNA lineage. Note: When we sent in my uncle's test kit we also requested mtDNA analysis (mother's side). The mother passes her DNA to her son(s) but the son does not passes it on. By so doing I found that my grandmother did not have Native American ancestry as I thought (and wished) at the same time I learned my mother's DNA and what she passed to me. The Edmondson DNA project has been established with World Families Network (http://worldfamilies.net) and is tied to Family Tree DNA, probably best known of the DNA research facilites. I live in Marietta, Georgia which is also the home of Terry Barton one of the leaders in World Families Network. I started the Cagle DNA project with Mr. Barton and will be inviting him to speak to the Gilmer County Genealogical Society in Ellijay, Ga. early next year. -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> > > Carol, > > If we have had a male family member submit his DNA testing for another family > line, but he also is of the Edmondson line, will they allow us to use the same > kit number to find out our Edmondson line?
