I have found some more information on Sallie Edmondson. She was born on Feb 19 1853 in Tenn, married on Feb 18-1874 and died on Nov 23-1921 in Gadsden Ala. There is a Hughes cem with an Edmondson plot. This may now be called Moragne Park. Betty, I'm not sure that we have documentation to prove that Pollard's wife was Annis Staton. I believe that the source for that was a researcher who sent it in to an earlier EDM Family Bulletin. I did come across something interesting re Pollard's father. Serving in the War of 1812 from NC, 3rd Regt., 4th Co., detatched from the Edgecomb Co. Regt: Ths. Edmondson, James Thigpen, Jr. & Howell Thigpen. Perhaps the National Archives might have more info on Ths.? I haven't been concentrating on that line but have had a few things sort of fall into place unexpectedly. Ann Edmondson, born 27 May 1820; married 16 May 1839 Simeon Dyke (this is my line) 2. Mariah Edmondson, born 16 Jan 1822, married William Heacock. 3. Lucy Ann Edmondson, born 24 Apr 1824, married 23 Oct 1845, James Heacock 4. Sarah T. Edmondson, born 3 Sep 1826, married 4 Apr 1850, Israel Cope. 5. Eli J. Phoebe Vale Edmondson was born in Warrington, York County, Pennsylvania, and I have found a book on her family. While I was looking through that book I found a John Edmundson who married Anne Marsh. Since the date of their marriage fit the time frame for my Jonathan's parents and there were several of the York County Quaker families that moved to Columbiana County, Ohio, I took a shot that maybe John Edmundson and Anne Marsh were the parents of my ancestor. I am looking for the parents of my ancestor, Jonathan Edmundson, who was in Columbiana County, Ohio, when he married Phoebe Vale in 1819. Both John and Phoebe were Quakers, and Phoebe's family came to Columbiana County, Ohio, from York County, Pennsylvania, with other Quaker families. There also is a Mariah Edmundson in Columbiana County, Ohio, who marries John Vale (Phoebe's half-brother) on 27 Dec 1827. Hello Charla, Yes, I remember being in contact with you. The Julia (Teaford) Edmiston was the wife of Andrew Edmiston. Andrew was the brother of Abram. Abram's wife was Jennie (Teaford), as you have buried in Mt Vernon and are my great grandparents. Julia and Jennie were sisters. R.M. (Richard) was the son of Abram. His first wife and child died very young. Maud, Coe and Ellia were daughters of Abram and Jennie. My grandmother, Lydia, was the only surviving daughter. Abram and Andrew and their father George McNeel left Pocahontas Co. WV and moved to MO. in the late 1800s, after the Civil War. Thanks for your message. Orv, My connection in order of descent: Matthew, his son James, his son Andrew, his son George McNeel, his son Abram, his youngest daughter Lydia Edmiston Minter, her daughter Ruth (my mother). I'm listed in the book as Donna Joan Wheeler, daughter of Ruth Minter and Harry Wheeler. About a year ago, I sent you a copy of a picture of George McNeel Edmiston and his 4 sons who fought in the Civil War. The McNeel's traced Geroge McNeel's son Abram and his family into Mt. Vernon Co., MO. Andrew is also traced to MO. There is a lot of history in the documnets I sent to you, including the line that states that David Edmiston is an heir of James. It also mentions James (Matthew's son) who fought and was wounded in the Revolution.
