    2. Dee, Yes...Richard H., & Silas were born in TN. Unfortunately I don't have that exact info in my lap right now. However I know that Silas Coleman Edmonson has records on the LDS sight www.familysearch.com . Their sister Adeline is on the site as well. Also according to the 1850 Davidson Co., TN census, all of the children from Richard to Adeline were born in TN. The same results are seen in the 1860 Logan Co., KY Census. As for Richard all of the census he shows up in, he reports being born in TN. Are you connected to this bunch or extended family? 3. Gayla, I really need more proof to establish my relationship to SW Edmonson. My great grandfather was Davis James Edmonson. The David Jimmy listed as the son of S.W. was born in 1847 however doesn't show up with them on the 1850 census rolls. He does appear with them on the 1860 census as a 12 year old boy. My David James was apparently born about 1851 to a man named Samuel in TN. whoes married to a woman also born in TN. The father, Samuel Washington Edmonson was born in VA which matches. If anyone can solve my little delema I certainly would be beholden. 2. Beverly Brunelle
    3. Need help locating Kathryn Gavan - and Edmondson researcher who has posted on GenForum and Rootweb, etc. All the emails addresses for her are no longer any good. Am hoping one of you has been in contact and has a more recent address or a phone number. I have even made numerous calls to Gavan in the area of the country that one of her email addresses was from - NO luck. She posted on a Richard Edmondson in Tennesse who had a brother named Philip Edmondson. I suspect that either this Richard or Philip is the break that I am need to solve the mystery of my Philip P. Edmondson b. 1801 in SC, and who left Bedford County, TN to purchase land in Alabama around 1820. On the 1830 and 1840 Census, there is still a Philip Edmondson there, and also a Richard. Have tried following this Richard - and all trails lead to Kathryn - and she has disappeared. The problem in Tennessee is that Bedford County was a "burned" county - and not many records left there to help me. I have someone in Bedford County who is at the moment copying ALL Edmondson references in the 1800-1830 time period to hopefully lead to a new clue or two. (so far Philip's name has only appeared as a surety - this would be the older Philip - not mine b. 1801) Was hoping some of the other Edmondson names she finds will help. Hoping someone on here knows something about Kathryn Gavan!!! Thanks, Beverly Casper, WY ===== Researching the following lines: BIALI/BIALE, BORDELON, BREWER, BRUNELLE, CARBO, DAVENPORT, DEVORE, DICKERSON, EDMONDSON, ETHERIDGE, LABORDE, LANDRY, LEEBURG, MASCARO, NORMAND/LENORMAND, PONS, ROBERTS, ROTJER, SHOEMAKE, TALTAVULL, TERRAL/TERRELL, WHATLEY ,WHITTINGTON, LOWE, HYATT. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Please include a city/county/state, however, with your query. I suggest that you start your search by using the on-line Social Security Death Index, or maybe you have, but you didn't include a place of death in your query; then get the death certificate of your grandfather. Many times the data there is useful; sometimes there are errors or blanks left by the informant. The informant is the key to getting accurate information from a death certificate. Finally, start your U.S. Census search at a library, reading 1920, 1910, 1900, 1880, 1870, etc. (I have joined the digitized census section of www.ancestry.com.) Sixty to seventy percent of what you learn about your family will come from your census searching. I am stuck with the 1840 census, City of St. Louis, MO. And my guy is too young to be the head of a household in 1830, prior to residence in St. Louis, and even though I can document five deaths in the family between 1850 and 1884, not one of them was included in the published Coroner's Report of St. Louis, 1850-1900. I have an 1871 and an 1884 death certificate, City of St. Louis. Neither of them is half way complete. And the birth place for the mother is listed as U.S.--very informative. I have an 1871 and an 1884 death certificate, City of St. Louis. Neither of them is half way complete. And the birth place for the mother is listed as U.S.--very informative. My interest is as high as ever, however, as I've found a few more bits and pieces during the past three years. There was a large contingent of Edmondson Friends (Quakers) in that area. Margaret Margaret

    3. I wonder if this could be Alexander Edmondson. He was on the 1870 LA census index, I think in DeSoto County. I did not look it up on the census, but he was a head of household. I cannot remember that he was on the 1880.
