EFAB@bigfoot.com That is not an electronic list. It is the email address of the editor of the Edmondson Family Association Bulletin - a newsletter which predates any electronic lists by many years. If you emailed Orvan there, give it a little while. I am sure he'll write back. Chan is not mistaken. The EFAB is very worthwhile. Margaret

    3. Marci, Why don't you check to see whether or not the LDS has copies of Goodspeed's books on various counties in Missouri? If they do not have them, try to find them. There were many volumes on Missouri counties and Arkansas counties. Perhaps one has some Edmondsons in the index. 2. Clarence Edmonson
    3. My earliest known relative is John Edmondson, born in England, married Sarah Parker (her father was William Parker), John died ~1697 in Talbot County, MD. Route of known migration was England, MD, married someone in PA, TN, IN, IL, KS, then OK. Most interest in locating descendent of my grandfather's brother, Vorhees "Dan" S. Edmonson, born April 2, 1861 near Terre Haute, IN. He made the run into OK with my grandfather in 1893 and obtained a 1/4 section adjacent to grandfathers. They both sold their lands in ~1901 and moved on. I don't have any more information of Vorhees until his death in OK in 4/5/1936. He was listed as a salesman on his death certificate. We have a photo of two girls who were identified as offspring of Vorhees with the names Anna (Edmonson) Adams and Ruby (Edmonson) Anderson. The girls were listed as defendants in the will for John T A Edmonson in 1969. Am interested in locating any of their descendents. Thanks for the opportunity. 3. Beverly, Received a note from Nancy Wood saying that her best guess was that my Thomas, Sr. was the son of George from Fredrick Co., VA who moved to South Carolina to be near his sons. She said that she suspected that her Richard was Thos. Sr.'s brother. I think it is possible that your Philip is part of this family group also. At least I would not be surprised to find it so. And you're welcome...glad you could use the resources. Soon I will put the South Carolina wills on the List also. You know, I am not a genealogist or a researcher. I'm just trying to research my line. But I have been on lists where the list manager put all sorts of records on the list weekly...sometimes more often. Cook County, Illinois comes to mind. Also, some Kentucky lists. That is what I think a list should do. This one is very selective about who they help, as far as I can tell. 3. Well, no one has ever asked me to supply my mother's maiden name for identification. But they ALWAYS ask me for my social security number. How's that for potential social security fraud?? And by the way, supplying a zip code or a town is just as helpful!! :) And people who live overseas sometimes do not know where to look for a state. I manage to alienate enough people who have little trouble remembering who I am and where I am so that I do not have to put a town in my signature. :( Julia Florida/USA CEdmondson wrote: > I have a missing or deceased Charles E. 3. Hello all! Think I started this with my puesdo request! So will try to take part. I worked back from my Dad to his g'Mom, who turned out to be Martha EDMONDSON daughter of Wm.C. & wife,Sarah Rogers. Orvan recognized Wm.C. & supplied me with his ancestors back to Ireland at same time someone else discovered a tree with basically the same info so that's 2 sources which means to me that i must not have much work left to do!!! Was also that lucky with my Rogers line so can concentrate on getting documents to back up my sources & on finding alive kin..Here's the scoop: 1-Robert Edmiston b.ca.1700 in Kings Co.,Ireland,d.ca.1750 in Staunton,Augusta Co.,Va.(Orvan's source, genealogy compiled by Walt & Max Edmondson) My other source just says Max. July 7,1810 in the battle of Peach Tree Creek,Ga during service re: CW.His future son-in-law's Dad,Curtis Oliver, also d. in the war in Ga. Their kids had 12 off-spring that inc. my g'ma Fannie Oliver Hunt...Alive today are Fannie's 8 g'kids, & many gg'kids..& some ggg'kid..Are you confused by this unprofessional presentation? Hope not as I've yet to learn the pro way! What I want for the immediate future is documents like d.c., census, war records & living kin to compare notes with...Later I'll tackle Ireland! 2. CEdmondson
    3. I have a missing or deceased Charles E. (Edward) EDMONDSON, b. 1835, Ohio; resided St. Louis, Mo., 1840-1870. Thereafter, he either died or left. He had no children under 11 in 1880, or I think I would have found him on one of the many Sound exes I have searched. Searching ancestry.com's made-do for 1890 census, I found one Charles E. EDMONDSON, engineer, boards 223 S. 4th, Saint Joseph, Mo., 1888. I think this is Kansas City area, though it is not on my Rand McNally or I'm losing my sight. Since this guy is a boarder in 1888, I'm guessing that he's a young man or a bachelor. There's a Charles E. Edmondson back in St. Louis, Mo., laborer, ~1905. ***Suggestion: I wish you guys would put your town of residence in your signature. In the old days with snail mail I could often remember a town and then who resided there. Like, I visited somebody in Raleigh, NC; she was an EDM and DeBusk researcher. I remember her house very well, and dinner, and some day I'll remember her name. And we discussed that EDM researcher in the Ozarks, Mo., name slips me now. But I can't connect a researcher's name and an e-mail address. Knowing that you reside in USA is about as much help as knowing that Rebecca unknown EDMONDSON, d. 1871, St. Louis, Mo., born United States! Well, that's more help than her death certificate, which was blank. Just a suggestion; even a state of residence would help remember you. Example: When you think of EDM researchers in Iowa, you immediately think of Howard V. Jones, Cedar Falls, I think. Over the last 30 years I can always pull up his name or city or state, but if I had known only Howard Jones, no city, no state, I would many times draw a blank from my memory. (Thanks for letting me use your name, Dr. Jones. You're one of my roll models.) Maybe some of you think you won't be doing research in 30 years, but then, you might. If you're putting your name and your mother's maiden name in various places on the Internet, we'll just hope that the good guys are the only ones that read the genealogy sites. Thanks. Chan J. I meant legendary or famous. I Looked up the word infamous in the ol' dictionary and that's not what I meant to say at all. There just seems to be a ton of info on him out there...more than alot of the other Edms. When I talk to others about the Edms of Wayne County, they can usually tell me about Lt. James. I am sure that I am related to him in some way and, in no way, did I mean to insult him. 3. Gayla, I have been gone for about a month so am just now reading through my mail. My great grandfather was David James (sometimes listed as J.D. Edmonson) born in TN July 4, 1851 his father was listed as born in VA and mother born in TN. Starting with that info I wrote to TN records to obtain some sort of record of his birth only to find out they weren't required to keep them. Bummer. So from the LDS I got the same info you have. I talked to another member of one of the girls and she said they all seemed to have gone to AL after the war. I found the 1860 KY census records too but my ggrandfather went north to MN and I see no other siblings there. So it made me wonder if I have a connection to your family or not. Thanks for your help. meteapots@ivillage.com wrote: > Dee, > > Yes...Richard H., & Silas were born in TN. Unfortunately I don't have that exact info in my lap right now. However I know that Silas Coleman Edmonson has records on the LDS sight www.familysearch.com . Their sister Adeline is on the site as well. Also according to the 1850 Davidson Co., TN census, all of the children from Richard to Adeline were born in TN. > The same results are seen in the 1860 Logan Co., KY Census. As for Richard all of the census he shows up in, he reports being born in TN. > > Are you connected to this bunch or extended family? > > Gayla > > On Sun, 22 October 2000, Dee McRee wrote: > > > > > I have a record showing Richard H., Silas and Joseph having been born in the late 1830's in TX however I think that is a mistake I believe they were born in TN. TX in 1880. > > Dee > > > > meteapots@ivillage.com wrote: > > > > > Thanks to Dave Edmonson's family tree on familytreemaker.com I have found Samuel Washington Edmonson's ancestors! Last month when I joined this mailing list, a ancestor of Adeline Edmonson's contacted me via e-mail. I would like to contact him, but have lost him e-mail address. I would love to have Adeline's descendat tree to add to mine. I am related to Samuel through his older son Richard H. Edmonson Martha McMurray. By the way, does anyone know when Martha McMurray died? Richard remarried (Mary Unknown)by the time he reached Panola Co. Tx in the 1870 Census and had two children from his new wife. > > > > > > I would love to collaborate with anyone associated with Samuel Washington Edmonson's ancestors or descendants. > > > > > > Gayla > > > meteapots@ivillage.com > > > Fort Worth, TX > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > > > iVillage.com: Solutions for Your Life > > > Check out the most exciting women's community on the Web > > > http://www.ivillage.com > > > > > > ==== EDMONDSON Mailing List ==== > > > Edmondson Family Association: Do you subscribe?
