Here is what I have on him. We believe his name was Charles Essex Edgeworth, born in Ireland about 1815. He died at sea in 1852 on a ship called the "Star of the North." He married Sarah Parry (b-abt 1822) of Liverpool and they had one child Maria E. Edgeworth born in New Granada, South America in 1850. After the parents death Maria grew up in Brooklyn. I can find her in the census records in the US living with her mother's sister. I can't link Charles to any of the Edgeworths. Can you help?
