One of the sons named Joseph Alsop is your immigrant ancestor. He lived in Anson Co., N. C. and married Drucilla (maiden name probably Lawson) and they moved to Tennessee in the early 1800's. They eventually ended up in Stewart Co., Tennessee. Joseph died and his son Samuel Alsop-Alsup, who had moved with his family from North Carolina, grew up in Stewart and Benton Counties, Tennessee. Samuel married Susan( maiden name not yet known) and their son James R. Alsup was born ca. 1821 in Stewart Co., Tennessee and died in either Benton Co., Tn. or Bosque Co., Texas. His wives were (1) Emiline Garner, (2) Hannah Rose Lewis, (3) Martha Bloodworth, (4) and Martha Bell Bush. James R. Alsup had two children by his first wife and eight children by his second wife. A son Claiborn Lewis Alsup by his second wife Hannah Rose Lewis Alsup with child through whose line you are descended! . Claiborn Lewis Alsup married Millicent T. Daniel, and they had a daughter named Martha Almedia Alsup who was born in July 1879 or 1880, in Calloway Co., Kentucky in the town of New Concord. Martha Almedia had eight brothers and sisters. Millicent Daniel Alsup died about 1890 which was just before Claiborn Lewis Alsup left Kentucky or just after he left there for Bosque Co., Texas. In about 1892, Claiborn Lewis Alsup married as his second wife Mrs. Martha J. Crowley. There were no children by this second wife as she was age 46 when they married. The daughter Martha Almedia Alsup married William Samuel Elliott in Bosque Co., Texas in 1896. William Samuel and Martha Elliott are the parents of my grandmother Rella Gwin Elliott whom married Luther K. Thedford in TX they had 9 or more children one of which is my mother Lola Fae. Lola Fae Thedford marrried Curtis Ralph Caffey whom is my father. I would like to have more info on William Samuel Elliott, my GreatGrandFather.
