    1. [EDGEWORTH] Family of Oliver Augustus Edgeworth (1857-1932)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: peka199 Surnames: Edgeworth Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.edgeworth/188/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Oliver Augustus married Louisa R. McMillan (1858-1907). They lived in Chesterfield Co., SC and Union Co., NC (and others). Among their children were the triplets, Agatha, Eola, and Eva. They were born Feb. 26, 1897 and died July 21, 1898 (two sources:(1)Their tombstone at the Old Antioch Methodist Church, Chesterfield County, SC (2)Descendants of Richard Edgeworth by James C Pigg). I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to these three little girls that caused them all to die on the same day. I was told that they died from typhoid fever, but it seems a little odd to me that all three died on the same day. Perhaps the tombstone was put there later and they couldn't remember the dates and just used the one tombstone out of convenience? Does anyone have any information about them? I've been told that it traces back to Maria Edgeworth (the author) but I have no proof. I would love to hear from any long lost relatives or anyone who has information to share with me. Here's what I know: My great-great-grandmother was Theressa Emaline Edgeworth(1849-1929, buried in Kershaw, SC). She married William Henry Sowell (1841-1923). Their children: Julia A., Emma LaBarge (my great-grandmother), Charlie C., Lou J., Authur J., William E., Henry W., N. R. I read somewhere that she was the daughter of William K. Edgeworth and Louisa J. but I have no documentation. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I too have got stuck with my Edgeworths. They were in County Kildare in the 1800s. Family talk of a link to the writer Maria Edgeworth but no proof. John Edgeworth was married to a Bridget Miller and they had children in the 1850s & 60s in County Kildare. Only found 1 baptism, 1865 of Mary J. Edgeworth. John died in 1880's. Bridget died in 1892 in Dublin. Some sort of family shop in Dublin, grocery, dairy etc. Theres also an Ellen Edgeworth dying in Dublin in 1880s, a shop keeper, so must be connected. Theres also some Kildare Edgeworths getting sent to Australia in early 1800s. Wheres all the baptisms etc? Mark

Author: Wanda_Brouse Surnames: Edgeworth Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.edgeworth/180/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am working on my husband's family and we have an Edgeworth that we cannot link back to Edgeworthtown, although we know he was born in Ireland. Here is what I have on him. We believe his name was Charles Essex Edgeworth, born in Ireland about 1815. He died at sea in 1852 on a ship called the "Star of the North." He married Sarah Parry (b-abt 1822) of Liverpool and they had one child Maria E. Edgeworth born in New Granada, South America in 1850. After the parents death Maria grew up in Brooklyn. I can find her in the census records in the US living with her mother's sister. I can't link Charles to any of the Edgeworths. Can you help? My mother in law is 92 years old and I would like to solve this mystery for her before she passes away. Thanks so much. My email is wjbrouse@comcast.net. Please feel free to email me. 3. Charles and Baxter were brothers, Oliver Perry was their dad, My Grandfather was Johnnie Oliver Edgeworth son of Charles Edgeworth. I would love to have a copy of the picture and would be glad to pay for expenses. Baxter would be my great uncle. I am almost certain that Baxter is buried in Chesterfield. ----- Original Message ----- From: "gc-gatewayrootswebcom" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <EDGEWORTH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 03, 2007 7:56 PM Subject: Re: [EDGEWORTH] Charles A Edgeworth, Oliver Perry Edgeworth---chelle899@shtc.net > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Edgeworth > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.edgeworth/81.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I am not sure, but yesterday I was at the SC Archives Library in Columbia > SC and if memory serves me correctly we saw pictures of O P Edgeworth and > possibly Charles.
