This has been received from the Rootsweb administration: Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Thank you for being part of the RootsWeb family and contributing to this community. Sincerely, The RootsWeb team We are presently setting up email groups at https://groups.io/. If there is interest in migrating this list to groups.io please respond to this message to that effect ASAP. With heavy hearts, Jim and Di
We just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim and Di

He also had FIVE daughters: Anne; Mary; Margaret; Dorothy; and Jane. Married Anne Bridgman daughter to Edward Bridgman. To clear up the mistake JOHN is the Father to Frances and Edward NOT brother Roger. RLE made a mistake and everybody here is running with that. I have Roger Last Will and Testament and Roger in his own words states he is not the Father. So this whole "smitten like his master King Henry VIII....." is BS! In addition BOTH Francis and Edward were born AFTER Roger died in 1560. I have no indication to believe he rose from the dead to father them either. Second Roger Edgeworth himself suffered forcible silencing and imprisonment: 'I have invehied ernestlie and oft in my sermons in disputacions and reasoninge with the protestauntes, untill I have be put to silence either by general prohibitions to preache, or by name, or by captivitie and imprisonment' Does that sound like a guy who turned away from his faith to you? Both were Vicars at Chalfont Roger continued to climb the ladder in his career rubbing elbows with the likes of King Henry VIII and sitting on his legatine court hearing where Henry sought ANNULMENT not DIVORCE from wife Catherine of Aragon! It was Francis who was granted 600 acres of land near Mostrim in 1619 by King James I. You hail from Frances? What is your lineage? Now it is the custom in the Europe to name your first born male son AFTER your Grandfather. Then second born son is named after the Father. Unlike in the USA where the first born male is named after the Father as a junior! I have no data on the William born to Sir John so just a theory. Could be your line hails from this link. Could be this William was a GGGrandfather to your William. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: ltbarden60 Surnames: Edgeworth, Goodlow Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.edgeworth/191.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, I have been researching the Edgeworth family for years. My husband's family descended from a William Edgeworth (not the famous one) who lived in Collon, County Louth. He was born in about 1802. This is the same town that the engineer, William Edgeworth built a church in. My research shows a number of sons, one of which was Robert H. Edgeworth, a plasterer, the ancestor of my children. Others were Richard, Samuel, David and Stephen. Samuel was a mason. They both left Ireland about the same time, but Robert, Richard and Stephen went to Boston. Samuel went to Liverpool. He married there and had children. Another name that caught my eye was Isabella Edgeworth. Robert married Julia Goodlow. One of their children was Isabella Edgeworth. The name is also shown as Isabella Goodlow Edgeworth, and is repeated in future generations in my husband's family.. Maybe your Patrick Edgeworth was related to this family?
