Came to America in 1883, 85 or 86 depending what census you look at and has ties to Eble's in Pennsylvania. I have a letter addressed to a son of John's, Mart Eble, from Harry Eble dated 1934 and he's addressed as cousin. Also have a pic from a Vincent Eble, another John Eble marked as cousins and a Clara Eble marked as mother all dated Aug 1942. Anyway, I have no information as to who my John Eble's parents might be and who might be siblings of him. Anyone here have any info to share? Thanks so much. It is in the Library of Congress, you can get a copy of it. It has quite a lot of Ebles in it. My family lived in Indiana and Nebraska, then Iowa, so I don't have much information about Texas. I have always wanted to know how Jean Baptiste Eble was related to my great great grandfather, and you have given me some clues. It sounds like they may have been cousins. My hard copy is being shipped to me, so when it comes, I will look up the names you have mentioned and see if they are there. I get no replies. I know that paul was a banker in mason, TX. They also had a store at one time. He married a Lemberg, spelled several different ways. Yes, their property was on what is now the Jefferson Proving Grounds (JPG) in Monroe and Lancaster townships. I know that George, his wife, and 3 of his sons are buried in the Marble Valley cemetery which had been on the JPG grounds. I believe they must have been members of the Marble Valley Methodist Church. What cemetery was John buried in? I know her remarried after his first wife died. There is also a Philip Ebley who lived in Jefferson Co., in Saluda twp. I don't think he was a brother, but I found it interesting since their father's name is Philip and George and John both have sons named Philip. George and John each had children named Philip, Charles and Mary. I found the info on their parents at Familysearch.org, in case you are interested. I believe the book you are talking about was written by Connie Brown, she is a descendant of Louisa Eble, daughter of John. Bill Sala has a family tree at Ancestry.com with a lot of information on it, and pictures! Let me know if you want more info!
