Hello Eaton cousins, Martha JENKINS married to William EATON in England 1627/8. My local library has 22 pages of Martha Jenkin's ancestor's wills in England. They are in the book: "New England Historical and Genealogical Register" Vol 78 (1922) Page 52
I haven't posted this in a while: Looking for info on ELI EATON, b 1820 TN d ca 1873 Stoddard Co., MO, married REBECCA RUTLEDGE (b. 1825 TN) IN 1840? Hawkins Co., TN. Family moved to MO ca 1852. Eli is believed to have been the son of JOSEPH EATON and MARGRETT?, who also moved to Stoddard County at the same time. Joseph is suspected to be the brother of ROBERT EATON, s/o Joseph Eaton Rev War vet from Virginia. The older Joseph Eaton may have been related to the Eaton who founded Eaton's Landing, now Nashville. Very elusive family. Rebecca's line is just as elusive. I have documentation from Eli down... Phil Eaton
I have information on my Eaton line from starting with my grandmother Anna Eaton Feb. 1892 and as far back as 1690. I would be willing to share. Anna 's parents were Thomas Eaton and Angeline Bullock both from Covington County, Mississippi. Thomas's parents were William Ramsey Eaton and Agnes Mckenzie from Halifax, North Carolina. Williams parent's were Thomas Eaton and Rebecca Ramsey (William had another wife named Mazillah or Mariah Davis. Thomas's parents were William Eaton and Mary Reemes. And Williams parent's were William Eaton and Mary Rives. William Eaton was born in 1690 and died 1758-1758 Gransville, North Carolina. That is far back on the Eaton line as I have gone. I believe I have most of the children for each family line. If anyone has any additional information on William Eaton I would greatly appreciate it. I have a lot more information on Mary Rives.
Good morning: I would like to take this opportunity to thank those individuals who responded to my initial query on the list. I tried to contact you individually but each message I mail was bounced back to me, which was strange I thought as each address was different. The only common thread was that each of you have AOL as your ISP, so maybe it is your server that has a problem. Again I thank you, Jerry McInrue

Hello: I just subscribed to this list and I hope to fill in a few gaps in my family research. My great grandmother Elizabeth McInroe, born Upper Canada 1841, married a Charles Edward Johnston. Where or when they met and married is unknown. All that is known is that they had one son George Johnston. It is also known that Charles was born in the US as was son George. (The 1861 census for Upper Canada spelled the name MacEnrue and it could also have been McInrue or McEnroe.) In trying to locate a Charles Edward Johnston born around 1841 I discovered a Charles Edward Johnston born 1835 in New Westbury, MA. and his father was Edward Johnston born 1793, New Brunswick, Canada. Edward Married Judith B. Eaton in 1832 in New Westbury, MA, US Does this information match any research that other Eaton surname researchers have on record. I would really like to hear from someone that I have finally found my great grandfather. Hoping to hear from someone. Jerry McInrue
Has anyone come across the surname as being from Switzerland? I have my gg grandfather s death record and it says he was born in Switzerland april 1855. I can't seem to trace him back there. Veggie30@aol.com
Steve: I have ypur request for information about the Eaton Families by Nellie Moluneux. I do not own a copy of this book. I have seen it in the Denver Public Library and Iowa State Historical Library. I do own a number of books with Francis Eaton mentioned in them: Savage vol. 2 page 95; Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, page 5; Plymouth Colony by Stratton; New England Marriages by Torrey; Pioneers of Massachusetts by Pope; Bradford's History "of Plimoth Plantion"; Early MA Marriage by Bailey; Mayflower Marriages by Roser; Mayflower Increases by Roser. I'll send a copy of this to the rootsweb as some may be working on the same. If you haven't subscribed the instructions are on my home page. Lyle R. To Whom It May Concern: I am interested in knowing more about my mother (Vera June Eaton Nelson)'s paternal family history. Her grandfather was Robert William Eaton, born in Pittsburgh, PA on 27 June 1846. He came to California in 1874 with his wife, Anna Loretta Van Tries to whom he was married at Black Jack, Kansas on 27 December 1870. They had seven children; the second son, Orrin Oakley Eaton, was my mother's father. He was born at Baldwin City, Kansas 16 May 1874, the year the family came to California, settling in Watsonville, CA in 1875. The following five children (four boys and a girl) were all born in Watsonville, CA. My mother, Vera June Eaton Nelson, was born in Watsonville, CA on 9 June 1901. Her mother was Maud Skinner Tuttle, a young widow, having married Orrin Oakley Eaton around 1896. My mother will be 97 years old this coming June 9; but unfortunately, she has lost most of her memory and can not help me very much. I would appreciate any help or advice you can give me. Thank you very much, Marilyn Nelson Clark marilyn533@aol.com
I only recently discovered that my ggggrandmother's name was Thurza EATON. She died 20 December 1873, aged 67 years, in Roxbury, Delaware County, NY. This would put her birthdate ca. 1806. According to the census, she was born in Connecticut and married Robert KILPATRICK, a native of New York State, probably Delaware County. Their first child was born in 1830. Since Robert was a NYS native, I am guessing that she came from Connecticut with her family, but have no clue to their names except for a James EATON in the 1820 census for Roxbury, who could be Thurza's father. I realize that this isn't much to go on but maybe some EATON researcher has a Thurza who disappeared from the Connecticut horizon! Thanks for listening. Ann O'Hara

Well, I messed up the message. It shoud read, I need her true death date. not birth date. Stone says she died 1850, age 50. One or the other, or both, of those dates is incorrect. I could really use some help in identifying the parents of Aaron Eaton, born about 1795, in Penn. His first marriage was to Abigail, last name unknown. They are buried at Rimersburg Cemetery, Clarion Co. PA. Need her maiden name, names of parents, and her "true" birthdate. Clarion Co Hist. Society has 1859 but that date appears doubtful since she was not listed in her husband's household in the 1850 census. (They could have been divorced - but there is no hint of that in any records we have. Information about our Eaton families is on our home page. Thanks for any help.
