    2. Perlina Belle Arrington Slone went to be with the Lord on Dec. 16, 2008, in the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Ky. Perlina was born in Blaine, Ky., on April 1, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Rebecca Susan Bowling Arrington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carman Slone (1986); two beloved sons, Donald Eugene Slone (1937) and Willard Dale Slone (2006); and two beloved daughters, Mary Elizabeth Slone (1957) and Esta Phyllis Griffith (2007). Perlina will be sadly missed by her surviving four sons and three daughters, Charlie Lloyd Slone of Columbus, Ohio, Ishmal Slone (Linda) of Blaine, Charlotte Sparks (Herman) of Grayson, Douglas Slone (Susie) of Grayson, Bert Slone (Anita Lynn) of Blaine, Sharon McNeil of Webbville, Ky., and June (Paul) Alexander of Grayson. Perlina leaves behind 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Low Gap Enterprise Baptist Church, and attended Pactolus Methodist Church since moving to Grayson. She was a member of Valleyview Homemakers, Hitchins Homemakers, and Lawrence County Homemakers and the American Legion Post in Willard, Ky., where she served as president and chaplain. She served many years on the Blaine P.T.A., was an EMT for Blaine Ambulance and Blaine Fire Department, served in the Democrat Womens Club and was a Kentucky colonel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19 at Young Funeral Home Chapel in Louisa. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight, Dec. 18 at the funeral home.
