McCARTY Ruth Ann McCarty, age 68, of Columbus, former resident of Deer Lake Park in Winter Haven, Florida went home to be with Jesus November 12, 2008. Life-long Baptist. Attended Williams Road Freewill Baptist Church. Longtime employee with Columbus Public Schools. Preceded in death by parents Richard and Martha Belcher, sisters Delse Goff and Margie Thompson and brother Joseph Belcher. Survived by children, Lisa (Michael) Burkholder, Peggy (Mark) Mason, Linda (Pepe) McCarty, Rebecca (Dwight) Schneider, James McCarty and Ervin (Chrissy) McCarty and their father, Jim McCarty; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ada Freeman and Alice Ramey; brother, Eugene Belcher; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
