When in doubt, or can't find, or you are confronted with a 'brickwall', modify the spelling somewhat so to seek a better possibilty rather than taking what has been written by the federal marshall (or as to what the transcriber of the census, as is the case, had for the spelling of Adams, which has been observered here, so as to see what else may infact, come up and render as a better, more informed and ledgeable information.
