CARTER, Datha age 92, of Hamilton, passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Thursday, November 06, 2008. She was born the daughter of the late Charles G. and Sophia Turner on September 30, 1916, in Jackson County, Kentucky. She was educated in the Annville schools. Datha was united in marriage to Dale Carter in Liberty, Indiana. Her beloved husband, Dale, preceded her in death in 1987. Datha was a life long member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a member of the Ida Betscher Quilting Circle. She taught Sunday School and cared for the little children and was selected Woman of the Year by the American Baptist Association for her commitment. She was employed for ten years at Champion Paper Company. Datha is survived by her loving daughter, Shirley Newhouse, of Indianapolis; and Mrs. Hoyte Moore, sister, of Okeechobee, Florida. Son-in-law, John Newhouse, and brothers Adrian, Lowell and Alton Turner, also preceded Datha in death. She loved her family and friends and was a de! voted aunt to many nieces and nephews. Datha touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, November 10, 2008, at Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton with Pastors Joe Tassell and Orville Roach officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 9-11am at the funeral home.
