PREECE Larry Criss Preece, age 68, of Lakeview, formerly a longtime resident of Marysville, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at his home following a three month battle with cancer. He retired as a foreman with Powell Truss & Door, now Powell Structural Systems, following 31 years of employment. He was a member of the Lakeview Moose Lodge #1533 and the Lakeview Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3615. Larry loved NASCAR and all types of racing and especially enjoyed fishing and time spent with his wife and family. He was born October 16, 1940, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Paul C. and Martha R. Johnson Preece and grew up in Kermit, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by a brother Donald Preece, a sister Linda Preece, and a sister-in-law Norma Preece. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Gloria J. Patton Preece; his son, Larry C. (Lisa) Preece, Jr., Marysville; his daughter, Rhonda (Michael) Justice, Milford Center; five grandchildren, Christopher Preece, Nic! holas Preece, Adam Allar, Zane Justice, and J. Nicole Justice; three brothers, Michael (Debbie) Preece, Urbana; Eddie (Linda) Preece, Marysville; and Paul Preece, Jr., Malta; a sister-in-law, Elvina "Pat" Preece, Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. Service will be held Monday, November 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. at MANNASMITH FUNERAL HOME, 621 West Fifth St., Marysville. Homer Preece will officiate and burial will take place at Obetz Cemetery.
