    3. There is an area outside of Paintsville on Route 40, called River, or they could be referring to the Big Sandy River which runs through Paintsville. It does run along route 40 for quite a distance. What family are you looking for? I currently live in Paintsville. Cary Howard Those were how my g-grandfather's wife's name was spelled (They are the same person), and they lived between Oil Springs, and Paintsville. My g-grandfather was Will Collins.
