ROUTLEY, Charlene T. Age 80, of Centerville passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at St. Leonards Senior Living Community, Centerville, OH. Charlene was the oldest of nine children born to Mary (Sergent) and Charlie Tolliver in Letcher County, Ky. on November 4, 1928. Charlene was a member of Oak Creek United Church of Christ, Kettering; the Kettering Mothers Singers, and Centerville Teachers Association. She attended Union College, Berea University, Miami University, Wright State University, and the University of Dayton. She was a life-long school teacher, serving over 60 years as an educator. Charlene retired from Dr. John Hole Elementary School after 30 years of service. Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Albert P. Routley; daughter Mary H. Heath; sisters Charlcie Martin and Geraldine Harding; brother-in-law Rogers Touchmann and sisters-in-law Pat Tolliver and Helen Kahn. Charlene is survived by her sons Albert (Lynda) Routley of Kettering, OH and John Char! les (Gloria) Routley of Kettering, OH; daughters Paula R. (Stan) Behringer of Centerville, OH and Joanne Moore of Kettering, OH; son-in law Bill Heath (Joan) of Kettering; grandchildren Chris and Beth Routley, Emily (Pat) Triola, Todd (Kathy) Heath, Elizabeth A. Behringer, Rickey Allen Shockey, Sara Ann Shockey, Jessica Moore and Jason Mayer; great-grandchildren Liza and Chelsea; brothers and sisters Carley (Josephine) Tolliver, Charles Tolliver, Pauline Touchmann, Johnny Tolliver, Mattie (Bill) Bond, and Denver Tolliver; and sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Kibby. Charlenes life was dedicated to teaching and making a difference for children and for her family. Her cooking was legendary. She touched many lives and made the world a better place. Special thanks to her dear niece and nephew, Tracy (Kevin) Bowers and Jeff (Cerytine) Bond. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, OH. Reverend D! r. Bob McCann of Oak Creek United Church of Christ will officiate. Fam ily will receive friends one half hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Educational Fund at Sinclair Community College for Inner City Children or Hospice of Dayton.
