HALL Emmalene, 80, passed away Sun, Oct 5, 2008 at her residence. Born and raised in Floyd County, KY, and a resident of Lexington for the past 58 years, she was the daughter of the late Childres Daniel and Myrtle Hall. Ms. Hall attended Berea College and was a member of Meadowthorpe Presbyterian Church. Ms. Hall was an accomplished artist specializing in oil portraits, still lifes and landscapes. She was a member of the Artists' Attic in Victorian Square. She was a longtime women's rights activist and member of the local chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW). As a civil rights advocate, she marched in Frankfort, KY with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and was a member of the League of Women Voters and the Democratic Women's Club. Survivors include three daughters, Dana Elaine (John Lynch) Tackett, Gena Dee Tackett, both of Lexington, KY and Joni Tackett (Thomas B.) Campbell, Versailles, KY; two grandchildren, Mathew Christian Page and John Mathew "Jack" Lynch, bo! th of Lexington, KY; a twin brother, Paul Gene (Mary) Hall, Winchester, KY; three sisters, Louberta Hunt, Lexington, KY, Ruth James, Shelbyville, KY, and Joan Combs, Greenup, KY; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Owney "O.C." Childres Hall. Funeral services will be 12:30pm Sat at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Scott Cervas.
