Sharon and Tom; Have either one of you ever came across a couple named Abraham Gibson born abt 1795 in Pittsylvaina County Va. and a Patey(Mary) Davis born either Russell co Va. or Pittsylvania County Virginia. Thie  couple where my grtgrtgrandparents. This couple are also my brick or steel wall which ever you prefer. They all had roots in Halifax and Pittsylvania County, VA. They were all descendants of John Justice and Mary Moore. One of their sons, Thomas Justice moved to NC prior to the Revolutionary War. He and sons Amos, Thomas and Jarrett fought with the NC militia. Another son, John Justice, moved to South Carolina, he and sons John and Simeon fought with the SC militia. Thomas' adopted son Thomas Justice, son of Simeon Justice and Elizabeth Turley came to Beaver Creek around 1807, as had previously, his two real brothers John and Simeon. Simeon Justice (senior) died and John and Simeon were adopted by their uncle Thomas Turley. They came to beaver creek around 1804. Another son of John Justice and Mary Moore , William Justice with wife Margaret and nine children (mostly married with children) settled around the mouth of Grapevine Creek just south of Pikeville. Their children were William, John, Simeon, Ezra, George, Peyton, Sarah(Parsons), Mary(Sloan) and Elizabeth(Pauley). Old William, born 1743, died in Floyd County in 1813 and his will is on file at Prestonsburg. His father John Justice died in Halifax County, VA in 1766. His will is on file there. There were three sets of brothers named John and Simeon, all first cousins. One set of brothers were two of the six of William and Margaret (Johnson?) Justice, Another set were sons of John Justice and Mary Sloan. the last set were sons of Simeon Justice and Elizabeth Turley. The adopted son of Simeon and Elizabeth ,Thomas Justice married Elizabeth Blackburn in Floyd County but then moved with his family to Logan County, WV.
