ELLIOTT, Marietta Age 76 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. Marietta was born November 30, 1931 in Martin, Kentucky to Eva and Porter Layne, the oldest of 5 children. She moved to Dayton in 1950 and later attended comptometer school. She was hired at NCR in 1959, where she worked 33 years in the payroll department, retiring in 1992. In retirement she enjoyed knitting and cooking. Preceded in death by a son, Marty Elliott, and two sisters, Georgia "Pat" Naylor and Judy Love. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Gus; son, Gus Jr. and daughter-in-law, Randi; brother, Porter Layne and a sister, Katherine Clark; three grandchildren, Gus III, Aaron and Lindsey. Funeral service 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "North Dayton Chapel", 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Pastor Rob Wackerman, officiating.
