DAY, Gerald B. Age 82, of Fairfield passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2009, at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Yancy, Kentucky, on October 19, 1926, the son of Russell and Grace (Ballinger) Day. He served in the US Army from November 1944 to August 1946. He married Audrey Carpenter on November 4, 1944, in Millville, Ohio. He was employed as General Foreman by Fisher Body in Fairfield for 34 years, retiring in 1982. He is survived by his wife; a son, Eric Day and wife Ellen of Pickerington, Ohio; two daughters, Debbie Day of Cincinnati and Edie Greene and husband Bill of Oxford; a brother, Ora Day and wife Iva Mae of Seven Mile; a sister, Ruth Turner and husband Tom of Millville; six grandchildren, Michael Day, Amie Greene, Maggie Greene, John Greene, Emily Greene and Lisa Greene; one great grandchild, Weston Day. He was preceded in death by his parents. Grave Side Services will be held on Monday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Darrtown Cemetery with Rev. Charles Stauden! maier officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton.
