Linda Lazzell Webb Hood, 77, of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday morning, Oct. 11, 2008. She was born March 21, 1931, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Rufus Glenn and Helen Preston Field Lazzell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eldon L. Webb Sr.; and a son, Eldon L. Webb Jr., M.D. She graduated from Fairfax Hall in Stanton, Va., and was a 1952 graduate of Marshall University. A loving mother, wife, grandmother and mother-in-law, she was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. She was an active volunteer in her church, Community Hospice and the Kentucky Highlands Museum, among others. Surviving are her husband, Charles R. Hood of Ashland; a son, John Anglin Webb and wife Molly of Ashland; a daughter, Lazzelle Webb Parker and husband Joe of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Brig. Gen. U.S. Army (Ret.) Rufus Lazzell and wife JoJac of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and grandchildren Jake Webb, Libby Webb and David Parker. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Calvary Episcopal Church by the Rev. Mann S. Valentine IV, with a reception at the church from 4 to 6 p.m. Entombment will be in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum. Services are under the direction of Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
