Edwin T. “June” Callihan Jr., 91, of Argillite, Ky., died Oct. 14, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Callihan was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Virgie, Ky., a son of the late Edwin T. Sr. and Anna Justice Callihan. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters Estil, George, Dixie and Louise Callihan; children Patty and Richard Callihan; his first wife, Mae Howard Callihan, and his second wife, Loretta Delaney Callihan. He was a pipefitter and steamfitter with union Local 248 in Ashland for 60 years. He was a World War II Army Infantry veteran, a member of Elwood Stringer American Legion Post 325 in Flatwoods and graduated from Russell High School in 1935. Surviving are his children, Edwin Callihan III, Robert Callihan, Sandy Greene and Dustin E. Callihan; and sister, Betty Webb. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., by Brother Tom Heaberlin. Burial will be in Pennsylvania Cemetery at Argillite.
